Role & Background:
Q: Can you share a bit about your role at Liberty and how long you’ve been here?
A: I have worked in both Residential and currently in peer support case management at Outpatient. I have been working for Liberty since June 2024.
Q: What inspired you to work in the field of addiction recovery?
A: I’m currently in recovery myself. What inspires me is the ability to give back and show others that there is more to life than what they have been doing. It’s possible to be anything they want to be, as long as they stay sober. I love seeing the light click on and the happiness that begins to shine in our clients’ hearts. It’s like my “drug.” It keeps me humble and grounded to have the opportunity to guide and support others in staying in recovery.
Personal Connection:
Q: What’s your favorite part of working with clients at Liberty?
A: Helping our clients become self-reliant is definitely something I love.
Q: Do you have a personal philosophy or way of supporting clients in recovery?
A: I believe in calling them out on their issues with love and dignity. Showing them there is more out there and that they are enough.
Memorable Moments:
Q: Is there a moment or success story at Liberty that has stood out to you?
A: Liberty didn’t give up on me, and I share that with clients when they feel like giving up. I remind them of what a special place Liberty is, and reassure them that they are in good hands, encouraging them to trust the process.
Q: What’s one thing you hope every client takes away from their time here?
A: That they are ENOUGH.
Fun/Lighthearted:
Q: What’s something about you that people might not know (a hobby, fun fact, etc.)?
A: I spend my weekends taking care of baby goats. I have three rescue pit bulls.
Q: If you could give one piece of advice to anyone in recovery, what would it be?
A: Don’t give up! Just stay clean, and good things will happen.
